AI risk analysis

Summary
This vulnerability allows control domains to be improperly removed, potentially leaving KVM guests exposed. It matters because it could lead to unauthorized access or control of virtual machines.
Exploitability
Exploitation requires kernel-level access and specific conditions, making it moderately difficult. Precondition is the presence of a vulnerable vfio_ap configuration.
Blast radius
If exploited, it could result in unauthorized access or control of KVM guests running on the affected system.
Detection
No reliable host or network indicator is derivable from the published description.
Prioritized remediation
Upgrade to the fixed version 5.19.10 or later.

NVD description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: s390/vfio-ap: Fix control domain removal in vfio_ap_mdev_cfg_remove The vfio_ap_config_remove function uses the bitmap_andnot function to clear bits from the matrix_mdev->matrix.adm bitmap (specifies the control domains assigned to the mdev). This prevents the explicitly unplugged control domains from being removed the KVM guest. The bitmap_and function is used instead.
