CVE-2026-4327

8.8 HIGH

Published 2026-09-19 · Updated 2026-09-21

AI risk analysis

Summary
The flaw allows remote code execution due to missing authorization checks and the use of eval() in the 'savesection' handler of the Welcomizer plugin for WordPress, posing a significant security risk.
Exploitability
Exploitation is moderately hard as it requires an authenticated user with Subscriber-level access and knowledge of the nonce, but the lack of a current_user_can() check makes it feasible.
Blast radius
If exploited, this vulnerability could lead to full server compromise, allowing attackers to inject and execute arbitrary PHP code, potentially leading to data theft, site defacement, or further attacks.
Detection
No reliable host or network indicator is derivable from the published description.
Prioritized remediation
Disable the affected feature or upgrade to version 2.82 or later, as the fixed version is explicitly mentioned.

NVD description

The The Welcomizer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Remote Code Execution in all versions up to and including 2.8.1. This is due to missing authorization checks on the twiz_ajax_callback AJAX action's 'savesection' handler combined with the use of eval() to execute user-supplied 'custom logic' code on the frontend. The AJAX handler at twiz-ajax.php verifies a nonce but performs no current_user_can() capability check for the ACTION_SAVE_SECTION case. Furthermore, the nonce is exposed to any authenticated user through the directly-accessible twiz-ajax.js.php file which loads WordPress and outputs the nonce. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary PHP code via the twiz_custom_logic POST parameter when saving a section with output choice 'twiz_logic_output'.
